Luke Dufour and his familyBrought up into a steel working family on his father's side and a farming family on his mother's, Luke Dufour was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie.

Alongside his 5 younger sisters, they experienced the economic struggles of the City in the early 1990's as their father Don was laid off from Algoma Steel. Through hard work and sacrifice, Don and Joan Dufour were able to send Luke to Algoma University where he earned his Honours BA in English and History. After living in Australia and the Dominican Republic, he returned to his hometown to help grow and manage a local construction business: JL Builders.

Luke will bring a reasonable, moderate voice to City Council, one that is informed by the critical debates of his university education and by the hard working, daily realities of the construction industry.
